The Villa

Originating as a rural “casina”, the Villa became a holiday residence and chosen retreat of the 5th Prince of Biscari, Ignazio Paternò Castello (1719–1786), an archaeology enthusiast and patron of the arts. In 1879, the renowned Milanese architect Carlo Sada—designer of prestigious villas, important palazzos and the famous Vincenzo Bellini theatre—transformed the “casina” into an elegant residence of a composite style, where neoclassical severity is softened by the sinuous touches of Art Nouveau. The entrance, staircase and frescoed rooms provide backgrounds of great elegance for capturing magical and unforgettable moments.

The true enchantment of Villa Manganelli Biscari lies in the unique harmony between the fascinating fusion of styles and the lush greenery of the historic park. Two-tone cobblestone paths, ancient and exotic trees accompany a route across three terraces: an Italian Garden, a French Garden and an English Garden, complete with hedges, fountains and statues. Open-air ceremonies, welcome aperitifs and dedicated areas can be organised just as desired.
